I finally saw something!

RE: I finally saw something!
I do shoot my recurve but I still hunt with my compound. It will take a few years before I am good enough to hunt with my recurve.
I am planning on getting out Saturday and Sunday. Our season ends the 31st.

Congrats on what sounds like it was an awesome hunt. Some of most fond memories of hunting come from trips afield where I never get a shot but just have a chance to enjoy nature and hopefuly learn something from the deer I'm watching.
As for the doe with the yearling. There is nothing wrong woth passing up a deer. If in your heart you felt like you shouldn't shoot her then that's fine.
I wish you more luck in the near future. Hopefully you have a chance to arrow one soon enough.

Shame on you Zak for even thinking about shooting momma. You should have been thinking on shooting bambi. You shouldn't let the little dude suffer through your harsh Mississippi winters scavenging for food. It's just not right.
Congratulations for finnally seeing a deer. Next time go ahead and drop one. When it's your first deer, a deer is a deer. Get that one under your belt and you'll find your next one will be easier. You also always have an open invitation to hunt up north when ever you want. I'll put you on a herd and you can take your pick. For that matter you can empty your quiver dropping deer because now you can shoot as many as you want.
Good luck this week end!
