any ideas? keep dropping my pin on the spot
every itme i draw and focus on the target i got a tendecy to always keep dropping my pin below the spot and having to bring it back up instead of holding it fairly steady. i have dropped my poundage up to 6 lbs and it still occurs.do you think it is my draw length(to short or to long) my breathing--i shoot more toward the low wrist side. anyone had this problem or is it kind of common. maybe my bow arm?i bring my pin up mto the spot.tried to bring it down also[:@] would rather do this

RE: any ideas? keep dropping my pin on the spot
I shoot a lot of indoor league and have seen this a lot, It is very common, some claim it is a form of target panic, because of not being able to hold on the spot. Many will start off above the spot, get anchored in and as the bow naturally starts to drop, they let it slowly drop in on the spot as they release. I personally dont like the idea of shooting as my pin moves through the target, but it is impossible to hold perfectly steady. Personally I dont let myself look at me pin on my bow, I just completely concentrate on the X in the target, if your focused on the X you wont even see your pin, you look right through it, If you focus on the spot and have a smooth release, your arrow will hit right where your concentrating. Basically I think,, if your seeing your pin come off the spot, your looking at your sight, and not the target, so you fight it trying to make it stay where you want it, which makes you move more,, does this make any sense?? I hope I helped you some, and didnt confuse you,, Its a little hard for me to explain.

I had this problem as well especially when I first started shooting. At first I just adjusted my sight so that I would hold the pin right below the target and hit the spot. I think my problem is that I wanted to look at the X with my eyes and not cover it up with the pin. Last year before bow season I adjusted it back to normal and practiced every day covering up the 10 ring with the pin and know I shoot fine. I guess what I'm trying to say is that practice makes perfect.

i also suffered from this problem the last 2 weeks in my indoor league but it was cured quite easily, i do not know your stabalizer set up, but i took weighot off of my front stabalizer and atached them to my V bar stabalizers in the back and it balanced the bow out and have me a rock solid hold right in the middle of the yellow, hope this helped it worked for me!
