What's really incredible is that the buck grew something like 70 INCHES of horn in ONE year.... they have his sheds from last year!!! Now THAT is a CORNfed bruiser!

That's a great buck but I think that mount sucks. The neck doesn't look anywhere close to being big enough and the face around the eyes and nose looks too white. The deer is magnificent but the mount doesn't appear to do him justice. JMO

What's an abslolute shame is the fact that he took such an animal to a "butcher" like that!!!! It is shobby work, details around the nose and eyes ae obvious! Whats the shameful thing is the fact that he/I live in this area, which means we have Locie Murphy and Dave Emken..... two of THE best whitetail taxidermists in the nation are just a very short drive away! I honestly don't know what Scott was thinking taking the deer to this guy!

As cornfed knows, I will second the Emken Taxidermy work. I have 2 of his mounts, and they are top notch!!

It just cracks me up that everyone of us will spend thousands every year on hunting gear and accessories yet the number of guys that wil take their trophy of a lifetime to some "butcher" that will only charge 'em $250! Of all the thing to try to save a dime on!!!! [:-] Just like huntin' gear.... you get what you pay for! The difference WILL show years from now when all those "cheap" mounts start to fade, crack and peel. [&:]
