Finally...pics of my partner's Dec. 28th buck!.....14 pts.
These pics were taken at 11:30PM on Dec. 28th in my ex-brotherinlaw's pickup. Not the best pics, but under the circumstances the best we could do. We are still good friends and bowhunt together quite often. I am 90% sure this is the same buck I had been after in November because I had seen him 3 times and came within an eyelash of getting a shot one morning. He took this buck about 1 & 1/2 miles north in another area we hunt as about 12 does and him came in together that evening while I was working the 3-11 shift. This was a day or two after we got quite a bit of snow and he admits almost giving up that evening because of lack of fresh sign and the cold. Its a basic 10 pt. with both brow tines splitting off and 2 sticker points measuring over an inch, making him a 14 pointer. He took him with his old Martin Firecat set at 65 lbs. shooting Beman ICS Hunters tipped with 3 blade Muzzy 100's. Its his biggest buck and I am happy that he was able to make a great shot, and ran only 35 yards. Its a great buck anytime and it goes to show that late season can be just as good.

Wow, thats a great buck. Love those brow's. Espescially fantastic to arrow one like that during the late season. I've had a few close calls after Dec. 1, but have yet to tag a p and y class during the late season. Was your buddy hunting right on a food source, or was he back in a staging area? Tell him Congrats!!

A beauty for sure!
That bad boy's body sure looks thin, you can bet he shared his gene pool with a more than a few does. As much weight as they lose going through the stress of the rut I am surprised as many of them make it through the winter as they do.
Congratulations to your buddy!
