RE: First Buck with my new Bowtech, pic...
Thanks everyone. A little slow to respond cause I'm currently serving overseas in the military so my day is your night. I took this buck while home on leave, which just "happened" to be for the month of November. My wife, of course, had it figured out immediatly, saying "Your just taking leave during November so you can hunt." Of course, I immediatly confessed and asked for forgiveness ahead of time for all the time I'd be spending in the woods. . I harvested this buck on Fort Drum Cantonment Area; bow hunting only. I didn't actually have my son with me while hunting. He just made the "Nice shot Dad" comment as soon as he saw it. I'm getting him his first bow when I get home from my tour and I'm really looking forward to that. Here's a pic of my son and daughter getting a close-up look at my deer. Heck, maybe my daughter will be into hunting also. She sure isn't taken back by them. . I haven't had it scored yet but the taxidermist that's doing the mount is going to score it for me. I think 120 is the minimum to make the NY records book for a bow kill. Even if he doesn't make it, he's a trophy to me. I've only been hunting for 4 years now and only 2 years with a bow and I never dreamed it would be so rewarding.
