Hope buzz doesn't mind mepostin this pic. you can see the difference in the neck. but, i think all mounts must be like that. it'd be cool to have one with a big fat neck though.

great buck, congrats! I think two things are happening there, one the deer's neck is compressed with the twisting motion to show the head in the picture. In the mount, the neck is stretched out and alert. Second, if the taxidermist is good, which it looks as though he is, the neck measurement is taken ASAP. The one thing a taxidermist hears most often is that the neck looks smaller than they remember. The hide cannot be made to be any bigger than it is on the deer when it is alive. Just thought I would give you a little insight. Once again, great deer, and enjoy that mount.
