How many pins...
Still very new to this.
I was wondering how many pins you guys shot with. Also what
ranges they are set at. The 05 season will be my first with a bow,
I have been fortunate to harvest six deer with a rifle over the past
few years and need to be in the woods more! I don't plan to shot
a very fast bow as my first, quiet and accurate is what I 'am shooting
for.
Thanks

I agree with bigdaddy I always only shot 1 pin for whitetails but I hunted river bottom and set up on a trail and new exactly where my shot would be. The one pin always shot on 10-20 yards. When I hunted corn ground I did add another pin at 35. This worked really well for me. I found that more than that was a distraction and blocked my view more than anything.

I hunt with a single pin on an Archery Impact Omega XL. I have it zeroed at 25 yds year round. I'm dead on at 5-30yds. So unless you're shooting long long range or have a lighter weight poundage bow set up, that's my recomedation.

I also have 3 pins but use only 2, top pin 20 yds, middle pin 30 yds. Left the third pin on because it came with the sight. Recently I went peepless and am thinking about trying to go with only 1 pin. My thought there is for hunting situations simpler is better.
