Looking for new sights
I have the impact cosmic xl it's a single pin. I like it because its bright but I really hate it because its a pain to adjust when a deer is in close so I want to change back to a 3 or 5 pin does anyone have any good ideas. I don't want cheap plastic sights but I also don't want to spend an arm-n-leg. I was thinking about the Trophy Ridge or Dead Nuts.

Hey Iowboy i have the same sight as you and love it. I set the pin at 20 yrds. and if the deer is a 10-15 just aim low if he is at 30 yrds. aim a little high. It does take a while to get used to but after you practice a lot you will know right were to put the pin on the deer.

I have the Spott Hogg Real Deal and although it's a great sight I don't like it for hunting unless you buy the bright lite to go with it ,I was looking at them yesterday and the sight was $175.00 for the sight and another $27.00 for the light {Canadian price} yes and this is pricey.I also have the Impact Archery Cosmic and i love it for hunting ,the more you use it the more you learn on how to compensate for your various range's, so I have to agree with Deer-hunter 18 on this ,but I definetly really like the Cosmic it's one of the best hunting sight's that i've used . I don't waste my time trying to adjust it because you have to loosen both screw's off and I do agree that it is a pain. It's too bad Impact Archery wouldn't come out with a better sysem where you only have to adjust one screw .

Nubo, the new Impact Archery sights only use one screw. I am glad they went to that. The 2 screws IMO was a major design flaw. I usually just untighten each screw just enought that I can slide it if need be. I leave it like that while hunting. Also, the new sights have built in yardage markers for 3 distances. That is pretty cool. You can move the marker up or down to perfectly sight in your pin. A great company IMO.
Also, many people complain about having to adjust the sight. I guess in some instances it could be a pain. But I have been bowhunting for over 14 years and I have only shot a few deer over 20yds. So, I rarely have to shoot other than my 20yds pin anyway. For thick eastern or northern woods whitetails, a 20yd pin is really all you will ever need.

If brightness and multiple pins are your priority, you should consider the Cobra Sidewinder. I am told that Impact Archery licenses their fiber optic technology to Cobra. Cobra has included the 2+ feet of fiber for each pin technology in the Sidewinder that has many of the same features found in other sights offered by Spott Hogg, Copper John's, etc. I find the price for the 3-pin Sidewinder to be reasonable compared to other 3-pin sights with similar features.
