1st i would consider the easiest way to get to and from your stand without bumping deer. walking into the wind each time you go to the stand. then i would put up at least 3 fixed stands, so that you can hunt acording to the wind direction on that particular hunt. judging by what you have said. it sounds like you have some prime hunting land. if you can use the pasture in the evening to get get to your stand then i would "but make sure you go in early and scent free".my best spot would be on the down wind side of the base of the hill where the 3 trails meet, probably around the east trail. like i said i would consider the wind 1st, then the easiest way to get to and from the stand without bumping the deer. scent and detection free is the key. fixed stands are quiet. knee high rubber boots are scent free, scentlock suit works. putting all your hunting clothes in a air tight container with earth wafers works. these are just a few tips. good luck and safe hunting!

I've seen too many good bucks bed in the swamp. I wouldn't go through the swamp, I'd setup on either side of the swamp between the swamp and the food source. I'd look to the woods as a staging area between the swamp and the food source. Seems like you've just about figured this out. Don't spend too much time in there scouting, start figuring which trees you want to setup in and stay out till the season opens. Some of it you'll figure out when you're hunting and you see what is coming from where. Sounds like a great place. Good luck!!!
