It's a Hoyt, you can't possibly go wrong.. My buddy just bought one 2 months ago, killed 2 deer with it. He really likes it. I shot it, and it shoots very good. Quiet, fast, all that stuff, I just don't like it because it is too short. To me, it seemed more difficult to hold steady.

I'm shooting a ViperTec right now and I really like it. Smooth, quiet, fairly quick, and it's been reliable so far. I have to admit having a short bow is very nice for maneuvering around the woods, as well as in your stand. As far as I know, my 04 model is the same as the 05 model, save for the grip change. I'm thinking about picking up a new bow for 05, so keep an eye out in the classifieds for my 04 if you're interested.

I love mine. Its a very comfortable shooting bow. The 04 is 32 inches and the 05 is 32 1/2 and the 05 comes with the alpha shocks instead of the limb savers. Also for 05 they have different grips to chose from. I called the pro shop and they ordered me the new alpha shocks and i think i am going to try out the different grips while i am there.

I have an '04 as well. I just bought it after the '04 bow season, so I have not shot any deer with it yet. But, it is an awesome bow. Fast, Quiet, & Forgiving. It is the perfect length & weight. I love it and would recommend it to anyone. I can't wait to stuff one next season with it.

Downtown, How much did they charge you for the alpha shox?

I also would like to know , and do you have to pull the cams to install them ? I was looking at the grips on the 05 and I'm not sure they will swap with an 04
