Garmin is the way to go. Anything with over 1MB of memory within the unit will accept mapping detail. They are IMO, much better units than Megallan, easy to use, and Garmin stands behind their products. I would first looks into the Etrex Series, and Map60 series, units for hunting. The Rino units are also great, if you want a 2-way radio. If you have anymore questions please let me know. Good luck.

I have a Magellan Sportrac Pro which has been a great unit for me. I have never owned a Garmin so I can't make a direct comparison with the other most popular manufacturer. Mine came with a topographic map and a case. I spent close to $300 over a year ago and I think you can get the same unit now for under $200.
