TRAIL CAMERAS
I am looking at buying a new trail camera. Who makes the best camera with the best quality pictures for the money. I have looked into the Camtrakker, the Photohunter by trailtimer, and the DeerCam DC-100. Any positive or negative feedback would be appreciated.

RE: TRAIL CAMERAS
I have heard good things about the cam made by Non-Typical but I recently decided to but the Trailtimer Photohunter. I choose it because I saw the pictures it takes from a freind. Very easy to use, the photos day or night are just like a professional photographer is sitting there taking them. I have seen photos from other cameras that have a haze around the edges or some blurry in different parts of the picture. The photohunter is easy! I mounts securely to the tree in seconds, turn it on and check to make sure the infered and motion beam are pointed correctly, you're set! When you check to see if you have photos you just walk up and turn it off. It flashes a red light for each picture taken. You don't even open it up! You can also set it 1, 5, 10 minute delays between pictures.
Its without a doubt, the best "toy" I've purchased in the last 10 years! I can't wait to check and move it tommarow!
PRACTICE....PRACTICE....PRACTICE......SUCCESS!

RE: TRAIL CAMERAS
Last year I had the chance to set out a Cam Tracker for a few months. This year I'm playing with the Deer Cam.The Cam Tracker is indeed an awesome system but the Deer Cam is just as awesome and even a little easier to use. So for my money the Deer Cam is the one to buy ($239) @ www.eaglearchery.com We've got some really nice bucks on this new property I'm going to be hunting. Maybe I can be lucky enough to post some "before and after" pics this season

RE: TRAIL CAMERAS
I have a TrailTimer Photohunter too. One thing that seems to vary w/ units is the length of time the batteries last. My wife's cousin bought a cheap one (not TrailTimer) from Gander and she has to change the batteries monthly and it doesn't work in the cold. I've had mine in the woods non stop since last july and I've changed the batteries in the camera and the 9-volt for the motion sesnor only 3 times. They've never died, I just change them because I 'feel' they've got to be close.
I have stacks and stacks of pictures. The photohunter can get the hazy pictures you just have to be sure to keep the camera close to the plexiglass cover. If it's sitting back to far you'll get haze around the corners.
I'll have to post some of the pics sometime.
I feel like Cloud 9, MN (by the way are you in St. Cloud?). It's the best toy I've ever had. Especially for the money.

RE: TRAIL CAMERAS
Definately don't buy anything from Cam Trakker. I bought one of their digital cameras and it didn't work from the moment I got it. I called the company and they owner just argued with me on the phone about it and wasn't willing to help me out at all. Finally (a few months later) I was able to convince him that I wanted to return it to be fixed, and he tried to charge me for fixing it, claiming that I was too rough on the camera and that I broke it (should have been under warranty). Now he has my $1200 camera and won't give me a full refund. He says he can't refund the $25 shipping that I paid and he is charging me a $100 re-stocking fee. I'll never buy anything from that company again and I'm telling everyone about what Cam Trakker has done to me so they can avoid any problems.
