Default Lost buck found

As the old saying goes, you always have to look for the good within the bad. My dad shot a nice buck several weeks ago and despite our searching we couldn't recover him. We thought he may have ran into a piece of land we didn't have permission to be on, so we contacted some people who leased the land for pheasant hunting purposes and asked them to contact us if they found anything. Well last night we got a call that they found a dead buck down near a creekline. This morning we recovered the deer, which had been eaten by coyotes. It's certainly sad to say that the deer was not recovered before this happened, but I guess it's better than not recovering it at all.

Here's the pictures.

Eh, it was a bad shot. His arrow hit a raspberry bush on the way towards the deer, deflected, and hit him in the neck. You can see the arrow hole in the pictures.

And no, I didn't shoot this deer. I shoot 2 blade Magnus Stingers, and you can see the wound was clearly made by a 3 blade broadhead (Thunderhead). So shut it!

WOW, that is too bad.

Beautiful deer. Did the other people allow you to keep him?

Yeah, they called us and told him where we could pick him up. Pretty amazing considering the things people do for a nice set of deer antlers these days.

He'll have to fight me for it. I think I could take him, he's getting old.
