Need advise for Arkansas
I found some new rubs the other day. It seems late for bucks here to be rubbing. Ive only hunted here for three years and normally the rubs are old. Is there a big post rut here in central arkansas or is it just a little guy that is a little late.

all the does don't get breed at the same time, that is probablly why dec is better, here in bama i have killed more and better deer after x-mas, i think of it as the 2nd rut, with or buck/doe ratio being what it is..
best of luck and welcome to the forum

I typically start seeing rut activity in late October. I will see some bucks chasing etc. Then typically during the second and third week of Nov. I see the peak of the rut activity. But, I saw a buck chasing last week and several fresh scrapes. I saw the same thing last year. We had a pronounced second rut last year as well, as we often do. The studies that biologists have done, showed the peak breeding date for the state to be Nov. 17 for the last couple of years and Nov. 21 a few years back. So, no it's not that unusual to see rut activity this time of year. Although, I typically don't see many new rubs this late. Like hawgz said though, at least you know he's still in there. If you want to kill him, you better get in there too!
