Thanks for all the positive responses. Much appreciated. As far as how and why my partner ended up taking the deer. As I mentioned we knew the deer had a broken leg. So I walked and blood trailed a section of narrow river timber where we had last seen the deer and we posted my partner up on the end of this section of trees in the event that we pushed him by. We guessed correctly and pushed him right past him and the rest is history. I had no problem with him getting a shot at him versus having a trophy deer struggling and suffering with 3 legs. If I had been alone, chances are the deer would still be suffering.

Well it worked out for the best no matter who tagged it. THIS is just a law in Pa. the person who inflicts the FATAL shot is the one whose deer it is legally.The broken leg would of not killed the deer. To tag a deer in Pa. that you did not kill is technically against the law
