Thanks guys, I'm fine with my choice. I sit here today a happy hunter.

I just posted the story because everything worked out perfect and it was exciting and the type of day we look forward too in the bush. As sappy as this sounds, I posted it because you guys realize the incredible respect we give to our wary quarry. When I relate this story to others who may not even appreciate the effort it takes to get within bow range of any deer let alone a buck, they are dumbfounded when I say I didn't shoot. I know my fellow bowhunters enjoy the chase as much, if not more, than the kill and a good story makes you extra-hungry to get back out there.

I never regret letting one walk. Having them there at close range and unaware is a charge in itself. Tag soup isn't fattening you know. It won't hurt your colestrol. It's easy to field dress a tag and drag it to your truck. All kinds of reasons for not filling a tag. It's suppose to be fun.

I've passed on 10 nice bucks. If your not going to mount him don't shoot until next month. The Rut is for one thing shoot mass and mass only.

Good luck!

Thats why they call it hunting and that is why we got out there! I know the feeling of "i may regret that" but when I leave the woods when things like that happen, but if you didnt get the "adrenilin fix" out of that, you need to see a doctor. Besides the more experince the better and sound like you just got some more.

good luck bud!
