Default deer intelligence

Last night when getting down out of my stand there was a couple does bedded down within 50 yards of me. They saw me getting out of my stand and took off. What i'm wondering is are deer smart enough to remember where i was at and will look extra hard there when they come back? Or will scaring them off like this maybe make them even find a new bedding area?

Default RE: deer intelligence

While they do seem smarter than me the last few years their memory skills aren't as good as ours . I've had a deer bust me , stand there looking at me for minutes , and then promptly forget that I was there .
