My doe story
It was last weekend on saturday night, after I finished watching the sooners whoop up on the jayhawks. about 430 a buddy and I decided we were gonna go to the all you can eat catfish place, which is conveniently located near a public hunting area. So we stuffed ourselves with the great catfish and fries and all that other stuff. I'm sure we were smelling great with all the grease and stuff wiped all over our pants.
Anyway, my buddy doesn't have his bow, so he's gonna do a little drive for me. Using the lake on one side and the truck and road on the other. I'm sitting in the stand trying to stay awake since all the blood is digesting my 5 lb's of catfish. I start to focus and it sounds like there are little kids running all over in the leaves. Well obviously it wasn't that but there were deer everywhere. This is a somewhat remote location that people never go (i like that). Well sure enough out walks a good size doe. I'm just sitting wondering how long it is gonna take for her to smell the grease from the T-bird cafe. Well, turns out she didn't. She walked into one of my smallest lanes and stopped. I held the 30 pin a tad bit low and let it go. I heard that familiar thump and she did a back flip and started kicking. She flopped about 10 yards from the spot of the shot and expired. It was a perfect shot, the arrow passed through both lungs and stuck in the ground all the way up the the fletchings on the other side. Not too much of a tracking job, but I got meat in the freezer!!. I will post a pic as soon as I can get my digital camera from my buddy. Thanks for reading.
My setup was this:
Hoyt Razortec 29" draw at 70lb.
Easton Axis 340
Magnus stinger 4 blade (and what a hole it made)!!!
