I would rather spend $500

RE: I would rather spend $500
Here's another story: I went to the shop to spend an extr a $5 to get some Limb Savers. I already had some Limb Savers on my bow. They were not sticking well, so I bought some new ones. I brought in my bow to get some String Leeches, which he doesn't sell, put on. He hands back my bow and a Limb Saver falls off. He says you need a little super glue on that. Thats customer service right there!

For $20.00 they better install it right! Sounds like you need to stay away from that
shop. And super glue? Good Golly. Your best bet is to find someone knowledgable
about bows and accessories and learn from them. And a bow press is a good investment.

I think a good proshop makes all the difference. The one I use is great. Maybe it's because they're new, but ever since I bought my bow, I can bring it in for anything and they take great care of me. For example, yesterday I went in with a small problem with my peep sight. They fixed it, and when they saw that my silencer was falling apart, they replaced it with a string leach for free. Any little thing, like some new tubing or a minor adjustment is done gratis. They know that a happy customer is a return customer. And, when I get my next bow, or a new bow for one of my boys (or my wife, if I can ever talk her into it), their's is the first place I'll stop. I have a bunch of their cards in my wallet, and if I'm in Wal-Mart or talking bowhunting with a buddy, I'll pass them a card. It's just good business.
Thats what competition is about. If your dissatisfied with your pro shop, hopefully there is another one you can turn to. It might be worth a bit more of a drive just to get that extra level of service.
I'd tell you all the name of this place, but then this post would sound too much like a commercial. It's in NW Illinios, if you'd like to know shoot me an email.
BTW, I once spent $500 on a hot dog. It was at a casino in Vegas (well, I guess the $$ was spent more at the craps table, but the hot dog WAS free!). LOL

Zak i feel your pain. As for a bow press buy one from walks with a gimp, or a bowmaster (They work great and are under $40). As for the too short of cord, replace it with string loop rope. It runs about a $1 a foot, and its tough as nails.
