Last year I watched an 8 pt buck come into about 60 yards and couldn't get him closer so I hit the can call and he ignored it. About 3 or 4 days later I saw the exact same buck and he was over on the edge of the woods so I hit the can call again. This time he turned and came straight toward me and walked in to about 25 yards. Timing plays a big role which is the same as grunting and rattling.

How many times do you tip the can over when you use it?

I turn the can over twice eveytime I call. I have used it for 3 seasons. One location we always seem to get deer to come to it. The other places are a mixed reaction. It has brought in does bucks and coyotes.

I got the can but never used it (the smaller older model) might give it a try tonight since i set up my stand yesterday on the edge of a good bedding area. to me it dont seem loud enough to call one in from any distance. Is the BIG CAN LOUDER then the little one ?

It use it every 30-45 min. or so and throw some grunts in as well. I was also rattling the last two weeks. With the rut a little closer now I will soon stop rattling and only use the grunt tube and can. I simply turn it over twice if I can't see any deer. If a buck is cruising by but out of range I turn it over inside of my pocket to muffle it a little. The buck needs to think that the doe is behind me not up in the stand with me. All I know is it is working for me.

Well I have the regular sized one and it is not very loud. The deer would have to be on top of me to hear it.. I tried it on a doe that was 35 yards in front of me.She never twitched a ear.Never heard it. The only other time I tried it and had a response was on a 4 pt last year He heard it and ran away.Must of been a homo deer

I used one for 2 seasons ,
it never attracted any deer at all . Another member here asked if he could have it so I sent it to him .
