RE: My Dad's 9pt. Nice PA buck
I'm happy to share this with all of you. I've been on the board for many years and stopped posting for quite a while. I still lurk and just felt I had to share this with everyone.
My Dad puts in his time and hunts every opportunity he gets. Had he not shot this buck, he would be out there next week after the time changes and would hunt the 30 minutes of light he had available to him. As some of you mentioned, he still wears the old style military camo, nothing fancy. The Hoyt bow was purchased new last year. Before that, he still shot a Bear compound bow that was 20+ years old.
When I shot my first deer many many years ago, he pulled out of his wallet a card with a prayer he had written thanking GOD for the time in the woods and the opportunity to harvest one of his creations. While I've grown up and have my own prayers and thoughts each time I'm out there, I still carry that card as a reminder of the man he is.
Just a few more shots of my Dad and some of his bucks.
This is the buck he shot in 2000 with his old Bear compound.
Here the buck he shot last year...
My Dad and me after my rifle season buck last year.
