Would have made a nice mount. Wonder how many pheasants he'll eat before being trapped? Any thoughts on the subject?
That is what they are there for. Do you think the only reason we have birds is to give you something else to shoot at? I hunt birds and also fish. Should we kill off every seagull we see because they eat fish too? The preditors are here for a reason.

That is really cool to experience something like that. That is one of the main reasons I enjoy bowhunting. I see so many things when out in the woods. Last year, I had a sow and her 3 cubs walk by my stand at about 10 yards away. It was the first time I saw a black bear in the wild. It was really exciting. This year, I have gotten to see a couple of bobcats come passing by my area. I need to really start taking a camera with me when I am up in my stand.

I was in my stand one afternoon and heard steps in brush below, close. I slowly turned my head and looked down to see a red fox making his way under my tripod. He stopped and scratched the ground and took a wiz, covered up the spot like a cat would and made off into the thick. At first I thought Wonderful, piss smell. Then I recalled fox pee used and sold as a cover scent. Free Cover Scent!! Free is good!

Another time I was in a tree and there was a red wasp hanging around my face. I knew it was a matter of time before I started swatting at it and I had several doe in front of me at the time. Out of nowhere came this cool looking colorful little bird, shatched the wasp mid-flight and took it to a tree branch about 15 feet away and smacked it to death and ate it. Couldn't have happened at a better moment!

That is a cool story!
I was watching a red fox for a couple of days last week. The first day I seen him he walked right up to me to about 10-15 feet. That was the closest I had ever seen a fox. Anyway, he grabbed something that looked like a turd and then ran off. The next day I was hunting the end of a corn field. I sprayed some acorn cover scent and soon after three little raccoons came out of the corn and underneath the bush I was standing behind. The one raccoon stopped when it saw me and made a hissing noise. Then the third raccoon came up to 2 feet from me. I told myself if he stepped any closer he would be wearing that boot! So, the next day I'm at the opposite end of the corn field where there was a funnel between two different sections. The fox came out of one corner and went into the other corner, then a big raccoon went into that same corner and the fox came running out of there so fast. Guess he didn't want to tangle with that big ol' coon!
I love the neat things you can see while in the woods (or cornfields)...
