first bowkill of the season last nite
i got in my stand around 4 because of school and other runnin around i had to do. about 20 minutes after i got settled in i see a nice sized doe comming towards me but she turned away before she gave me a shot. another 5 minutes after that i see 2 deer in the thicket that i cant tell what they are so i gave a doe bleat, about a minute later another doe walks in and gave me a 15 yard broadside shot but i decided to wait for more to come because she was a little small well after 15 minutes of her giving me shot after shot and no other deer around i decided to take her. as soon as she put her head down i drew slowly but she must have caught my movement and ran straight away from me but i gave a mouth bleat and she stopped quartering away about 25 yards away. i put the pin on her and let it fly. i watched it go right behind the shoulder and as she ran away i thought i heard her crash. there was a real nice blood trail but the arrow didnt pass through. i gave her about an hour and a half and followed the blood about 40 yards where i found her. the arrow went perfectly right behind the shoulder hit one lung and the heart and came out around the armpit on the opposite side where it hit right above her knee keeping the arrow inside her. im just relieved to get a bow kill after i couldnt even shoot at one last year sorry for the long post but just excited for the rest of the season
