RE: ASAT fading?
ALL fabrics will fade when washed. The degree of fading is subjective.
Davidmil's ASAT has faded quite a bit and I like it a lot over my newer ASAT. Mine is starting to fade; and, in my opinion, it now looks a lot better. To me the colors tend to 'blend' more when the fading occurs.
I commented to Davidmil that he really blends when observed in a tree (except for the MOBU boots and hat).
If you are not happy, send it back to ASAT and I'm sure that they will replace it if the fading is eccessive.

The Sportsmen's Channel had a bit on how to care for your camo.
1. Always wash inside out.
2. The first time you wash the garment, use no detergent and add about a cup of salt to the washer. The salt helps set the dyes and slows the fading effect.

I have to agree with Len in Maryland. All fabrics will fade, I've seen this in all camo's washed in Sport Wash. Although Sport Wash is fantastic for eliminating odors in fabric, it also contains no UV brightners which tends to hold colors in the fabric itself. Without UV brightners, fabric will indeed...fade. If you are unhappy, contact Chuck Pensyl at www.asatcamo.com and they will make it right. I have ASAT that is close to 20 years old and believe me when I say, it's faded yes, but still works to perfection.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but don't deer see partialy in the UV spectrum? That being said anything that is a UV brightner is actualy counter productive to concielment. You would stick out like a light bulb to a deer in the UV spectrum in that case.

That was my point ACLakey...without UV brightners, which is what you want for your cloths wash, camo or any fabric will fade.....you definately do not want UV brightners in your cloths wash when it comes to hunting. That includes all fabrics that might be exposed to the deers eyes, including under layers, hats, belts, safety belts, backpacks..etc...Sport Wash is fantastic at eliminating odors and the UV factor which is great for hunting but will cause fabrics to fade....
You did make a great point to remind hunters that the UV in cloths is a bad thing and we must accept some level of fading in our hunting cloths.
