Default I cannot believe what happend....kinda funny

I have not bow hunted for the past 15 yrs with new bow in hand I set out yesterday afternoon to try my luck.Around 6:25 I decided I needed to get going and I had seen nothing for the 2hrs I had been on stand. So I lower my bow grab my gear and start moving my viper down the tree.I make 2 moves and look over at one of my shooting lanes and low and behold there is a 6 pointer staring me down.I could not believe this I am about 20ft of the ground and have no bow. After the stare down he starts eating and pays me no mind what soever. So I climb all the way down grab my bow go into my bag and get my release, all the while making alot of noise, nock a arrow and at this point the deer is still just eating away, and gives me a broadside shot at about 35 yds and I hit the tree next to him......I just can't believe this deer stayed around....I am going this evening to set up on him again....I have to take him I don't want those genes spreading through the herd.

Me and a buddy were field dressing a doe one morning and just talking away and workin on cleaning her. I took a break for a sec to clean my knife and I looked up and a fork horn buck was heading right for us. This deer had to of heard us from about 50 to 60 yards out. We were not bein quiet my any means. My buddy picked up his bow and took a broadside shot at about 20 yards. He hit a limb and completey threw his arrow off course causing his arrow to hit about 5 yards in front of the buck. Ya never know when they're gonna show up. Just like you , I've had em walk right by my stand as soon as I lowered my bow down. You just never know! C. H.

That is how I got my first buck. I was about 14. My Dad got a buck and I walked over to him to see it. We were talking real loud and he flipped the buck over to gut it. Just then we heard some noise and I grabbed my gun. A forkhorn ran right up to us and stopped. I was ready and fired. I leveled the buck instantly. When we walked over to it we then realized that I had shot it right in the ear hole, killing it instantly. I was obviously looking thru the scope at the horns and shot where I was looking.

Do I dare to ask how you hit a tree instead of the broadside deer?

May I kindly suggest several hundred practice shots before heading back out?

It has been 15 years

first of all what are you doing getting down right when the hunting is getting good in my neck of the woods you can still see to shoot at 7:35 or so. Second of all the dumbest deer in the woods is a first year buck. I wouldn't shoot that deer at all he may be a record dee in 3-4 years. Instead shoot a big fat doe. Oh ya practice, practice, practice.
