After you try it out please post a review. I'd be curious to see how it works.

RE: Hang bow or keep in hand?
I haven't bow hunted alot but I've been keeping it in hand. My quiver has a base and I lay that on top of my knee and have the arrow nocked and ready to go. It worked well the other night on my first deer as it enabled me to just stand up and draw the bow versus grabbing it off a hanger, nocking an arrow, and drawing. I do have a screw in hanger there too and hang my pack there and bow if I need be...

i hold it about half the time and use a holder the other half. i have the holder mounted near my left knee.
the holder actually results in less movement since the bow is already upright, i just pick it out of the holder with my left hand. i also keep an arrow nocked while it is in the holder
during the first and last hour i usually keep it in my lap with my release connected to the loop

Early morning or late evening I usually hold it. Then I get lazy and hang it. I've never been busted grabbing my bow, but that's not to say it'll never happen.

beings i'm fidgety by nature, i make every effort to not move: bow resting in my lap with my release engaging the string. i've found that if i built stable and solid stands my comfort level (i.e. lack of movement) allows me to sit "in the ready position" for a couple hours. i would like to use a bowholder, but (imo) it would create unneccessary movement....

MIne sits in the bow holder attached to my stand. Occasionally I'll hold it the last few minutes of daylight for things coming in fast. So far I haven't been busted reaching for my bow or been too late for a shot opportunity.
