RE: Son learns a valuable lesson !!!!
They all go by my stand first to say Hi to me.) Actually my stand is overlooking a line of rubbs and a conversion of 3 trails. His is approx 200 yards away were the deer are staging approx. an hour before dark to hit the fields. He picked his own stand sites. He likes the area so I let him go with it. I also set him up 2 other stands in areas of my choice.

Speaking as the father of a 16 year old you are doing the right thing. Grades are way more important then a deer. Damn that hurts to say. I know what you are doing is hard but stick with it. He will be better because of it. And like others have said with that many deer out there he will get his chance.

I'll bet you anything that that son of yours is gonna stick one as soon as he goes to the wood's and if you think that the deer lord's are sticking it to you now you, just wait till it happen's . He'll be coming home and telling mom and anyone else who'll listen. You'll pay dad you'll pay.LOL
Just joshing with you dad I understand just how important school is and you need to do this so that he know's school comes first ,but i can just picture this happening and he'll figure he's getting even after you rubbing his nose in the pic's from his stand .

I was 12 a long time ago and that is the way it was with me. I learned real quick that in the begining of the year to have good grades so I could hunt. Almost as important as at the end of the year with summer in view.

Awesome story. Antler Eater and I took my 10 year old hunting this spring and he shot himself a 23 pound longbeard. I can feel yer pain about having to be a hard arse with the young uns. But you gotta stand yer ground. Good luck on getting him back out there.
