Had 2 P&Y Bucks Come In While Hanging My Stand Sunday!!!
I have been scouting my hunting area which is about 2,000 acres every week since
December. I found the best funnel that I have ever seen way back in the timber on Friday. There are 2 cliffs that really narrow the deer down so they have to cross through the funnel that I found. Also the acorns are spotty this year and for some reason they really hit well in this funnel. Their was some deer sign in the funnel on Friday but nothing unusual. Well I returned on Sunday to hang my stand and between Friday and Sunday 20 rubs showed up in this funnel. I was pumped to say the least. And before I could get the stand hung and leave the funnel 2 P&Y bucks came through the funnel while I was hanging the stand. One of them was a tall tined 8-pointer. The other was a wide 10-pointer that I have a trail cam photo of. He would have walked right under my tree if he hadn't smelled me standing at the bottom of it. It is still 3 weeks till our bow opener here in West Virgina so hopefully that will give the area enough time to settle back down.

Nice, bet you're excited! Which buck is better? I like tall racks, my best hunting buddy really digs wide racks. Of course high and wide is best..

Not those public land monster you've been posting? 
Luckily you've got 3 weeks before the season opens for you spot to melow out a bit. Have you tried a mock scrape in this area? I can't wait until you've posted a pick of you and that wide 10 sitting on the ground together spending quality time.

adams, I have made several mock scrapes but have not went back to check them. After Sunday I am scared to go any where near my stands as I don't want to bump any more big bucks. I have scouted hard all year and I really have learned how the deer in my area use the terrain so I am sure that 1 of the 7 stands that I have hung in funnels will
pay off. I will hunt everyday from October 16th through the end of November. So now it's just a waiting game. Man I don't think October 16th can get here fast enough!!!
