Default My first real 3d shoot.

I have piddled around at a couple small, run-down courses, with half the targets missing before, but I went to my first real couse last saturday. I probably shot around 250. I learned that my accuracy isn't any problem at all. What I need to improve on is knowing where the stinking 10 ring is. I hit the vital area every time, but I couldn't keep track of where the 10 ring was on the different animals. I'm gonna have to study those targets[8D] It was really fun though. I am going to try and make it down there again this week.

Yeah I aim for the heart on live animals not center lungs like they are on the targets. My first two times I couldn't get myself shooting away from the heart so I shot a 257 and a 260, I just went two days ago and shot a 286. I was pretty happy, I think I could get in the 290's if I had a really good day. It was a blast and I'm going again thursday!

You need a 3D score card that shows arrow placement. This one is $7.99 at www.lancasterarchery.com

You need to carry your binos, it's actually a great way to get used to wearing them while you shoot anyway. Of course, I'm assuming you would use a slide and flex bino system so they don't end up tangled in your bowstring.

The first time I went 3d shooting I shot 50 points in 5 targets. Then I missed two![:@] I shoot with a pro 3d shooter so he has a nice range and some great tips.

The other guys are right, binos are the key. Also you want to look for the 12 ring to imprve the score, Go with the theory aim small, miss small.[8D]
