Opening Day Full Moon
Here in Texas bow season is opening up Oct 2 this year which is the week of the full moon. I see most of my deer during the full moon in the middle of the day. Looks like I will have to sit and sweat out the day this year for the opener. How many of you guys will sit the middle of the day that have seasons opening Oct 2.

I've never done it during bow season but plan to this year at least a few times. I have seen many deer moving around feeding during the middle of the day where I hunt. I'll be sweating it out too! It will just be a blast to be out there. 31 days left!!! Are you ready??

I am in a totally different climate than you are, and our season opens earlier. Doesn't matter. Mid day during the full moon is no doubt the best time to be out during this moon phase. I like that pattern up here in the late season when it get's down in the single digits or below zero and I can hunt mid day with a positive attitude (late season also has the deer move up here in mid day so they can conserve their energy)
Just this past weekend I was up in my area in far northern WI fishing and at 1:30 in the afternoon heading to the lake we were going to fish, I saw three bucks in a clear cut. Guess when the full moon was....??? :-) Yep, this weekend.

I'm working that Friday & Saturday night and you just helped ease the pain a little.
I'll be out there Sunday or Monday morning though.
You hit the nail on the head when you mentioned "sweating it out" if it's a normal Texas October then evening hunts are a no-go for me until mid season when it's cooler.

Thanks for the welcome, the bow season opens sep. 3rd and runs till January 4th in North Dakota. I know what you are thinking North Dakota, what is there to hunt there, but there is actually some really really good hunting here, Atleast in the Western half of the state. But it should be fun, long season, but there isnt as many bow hunters in the state as others.
