PB-
I have the Plano Protector bow case and like it just fine. Don't know what the difference is between the Protector and the Bow Max. I do wish mine had some sort of compartment for accessories though.

RE: Plano Bow Max Bow Case
I have the bowmax case. This will be my second season with it. I'm still up in the air about it. I will be flying with it at the end of Sept.
It's nice because it's locks the bow in place. Depending on the stabilzer/bow, if fits in the compartment without taking anything apart. Lots of room for you to put other stuff in there, however the extra stuff will float around in the case.
Some things I don't like....
1. The case opens while standing up and it opens up in two parts...look at pics in BPS or Cabelas to know what I mean. It's kind of a pain because you need a little more space to open it.
2. This is my main comlaint. When you lock it in, it just takes too long! YOU HAVE TO LOCK IT IN EVERYTIME IN ORDER TO USE THE CASE OTHERWISE THE BOW WILL FLOAT AROUND. This can be a pain especially when your trying to get hom after hunting, feels like you don't have time...if you know what I mean. Imagine being late for the honny do lists. However....when it's locked in...IT'S LOCKED IN AND NOT GOING ANYWHERE.
3...Its a tad bit on the heavy and BIG side.
O.K...overall, I like it. I'm anxious to fly with it. Like I said...when that bow is locked in...IT'S LOCKED IN!!!! It aint going anywhere. I feel very safe flying with it. Even though I mentioned some negatives....I really do like the case. Even though you can't just throw your bow in there when done, but oh well.
Go to the store and actually get your hands on it and decide for yourself.
There is some assembly on it, which is really easy anyway. You just need to mount the brackets. In order to do it, you just need to put your bow in there and see what holes to punch....pretty easy. Good luck on the decision, and Better luck this season.... Right around the corner!!!!!!!!

RE: Plano Bow Max Bow Case
I have the plano bow case. The one that the bow sets in and is clamped into. IT stands up and opens on top. It has arrow holders on each side of the lid. It also has a tackle box that fits in the end. I have traveled with this case to New Brunswick Canada from Montana and it did great. It is good because you can pack some of your hunting clothes around your bow along with range finder, binos ect. The only thing I would suggest when traveling with arrow in the case is to put a piece of masking tape or packing tape over your arrows, esp. if you have broadheads on your arrows. I wrapped my broadheads in toilet paper on a friends advice and was glad I did on the trip out to Canada, because when I got there 3 of my arrows were loose in the case and on the return trip I taped them and the did great. I have had the case about 2 years and like it so far. I have to agree with justthrowit that it is a little heavy, big and takes up more space.

MT Elk,
Good to get your advice on the arrows. Again, I'll be flying with it at the end of this month. The tape on the arrows is great advice!. I was already planning on puting cloths in there for extra pading. Also, the toilet paper over the braodheads, more great advice. Thanks
