Default Trail Cam questions

I just picked a Stealth Cam to play around with. I got it ready and hung it on Sunday afternoon. How long do you typically leave one up before checking it? With the amount of deer on our property, I wouldn't think too long, but I really will not have time to check it again until probably Saturday afternoon. I don't want to mess around in the woods during evening hours in fear of spooking deer that typically move through the area.

One other thing...How high do you typically place them off the ground?

I hang mine about 3 feet off the ground. Because I have a digital I don't have to worry about film. I check mine at 10 days just to make sure it's still there and I bring it in after about 3 weeks to check pics. That's about how long my batteries last. With a file cam I'd check once a week so if the film need to be replaced you'll know and not waste batteries.

That was kinda my original plan. I don't want to leave too much scent in the area for one and risk running deer out. Especially this close to season.

I check mine once a week. I have 4 cameras. Sometimes the film is all used up other times it is not. The batteries last about 3 weeks at the longest. I would not use fuji film in the cams. Great camera for the money.
