dad made an offer on 60 acres today..
Just got off the phone wiht my dad, and he said he made an offer on 60 acres about 3/4 away from our house, half woods half fields. we offered them what they wanted for it. My dad buys land for his company, which he and his brothers own, and they they log it and sometimes re sell it. its good news for me, as i will get to bowhunt that this fall. my uncle has a cabin on the land next to it and says they've been seeing some dandy bucks. i know if we get it the land will be resold in 2-3 years but just having another 60 acres close to home to hunt is pretty nice.

its taken me a while to get used to hunting small tracts of land because i started out on the 750 we own and since i can't drive yet and its too far to have my dad haul me down there every weekend i've learned to hunt the 135 we own behind our house and the neighbors properties. i turned the thickest part into a sanctuary, hope that helps draw the deer in.

Man Slayer it sounds like you have a lot of land to hunt. I hunt in Richland county. We have 80 acres but I am working on getting another 80 just south of what we have. Are you in the earn a buck? I am in the CWD management zone so I can earn as many bucks as I want. Which for me will probably be one.
Good luck getting them big boys.

Sweet deal. This is a lot like the 54 I've got to hunt. My parents bought it as a retirement investment as it has almost a half mile of waterfront. It's been on the market for a couple of year and will continue to be listed until it has sold. I'll definately miss it when it's gone. We've had about 20 years now and I ofter take it for granted.
