Hunting opening day

Hunting opening day
I want to hunt opening day this year. Since this will be my first year, I am excited about it. The problem is my opening day starts on Friday. I don't get out of school until 3 pm and won't get to my spot until 4 pm. That will give me about 3 hours to hunt in the afternoon. Are deer active in the afternoon? If so what techniques should I use?

That is plenty of time. You can take your time getting into your spot, the early season is alweays hot. Just set up on a trail leading to a feeding area and wait them out.

I don't think I could concentrate enough that Friday to make it worth showing up to class But then again, Thursday would be difficult too and Wednsday Tuesday Mon Su S ... hey was that my boss? Gotta go!

Early in the season 3 hours is plenty! For the first 2 hours keep calm and run scenarios through your mind......then you'll be ready for the last hour when the deer really start to move!
Good Luck!

I just read an article in BowHunt America that late afternoon is ideal time and better than early morning. You should check it out.. might be an old issue (year or less) not exactly sure maybe they have a website with the articles. In any case good luck!
