Well said!
Unfortunately I'm afraid this is actually what some people want and are will to shell out big $$$ for[:'(]. 99% of the hunting shows I see are nothing more that a plug for some outfitter somewhere. It's to the point it almost disgust me.
On a brighter note, Most of those shows are on early Saturday and Sunday mornings and there is no better time to be out and about in the woods.

Some one mentioned a good point. They used to semi Hide their bait piles behind a log or something so the cameras wouldn't pick it up. NOW they're showing you how and what to place in the bait piles. I watched some guy on TV the other day in Canada. They spent 10 minutes of the show on baiting and then have the nerve to say , "We saw deer inspite of the bad weather". DUhhhhhhhhhhh... our next brain surgeon for sure. He also made a comment along the lines of "the bucks are too old and smart and won't come to the bait, but they'll follow the does to the bait". Duuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhhhhh.... yup he will be a brain surgeon.

I'll never understand the enjoyment of rifle hunting and really can't see the enjoyment of watching rifle hunters shooting monster bucks...I cringe and wince every time I watch one. But they are selling videos and gun hunts are much much easier to film than bowhunts.

I love those shows during the long winter weekends when there is nothing left to do. I too laugh when watching them as they have more comfort features in those luxury skyboxes than a football fan in a corporate suite! It's a joke. Rarely do you see them on stand shivering in the cold rain.
A few years back I actually saw one show that showed the hunter walking to the hunting spot, climbing with his stand, pulling up the bow, hunting, missing his first shot and then waiting all day for another deer to come by. That was probably the only realistic show I have seen in years!
