Can a deer go 300-350 yards double lunged?

Well, I'll tell ya, I'd be the first to totally admit, that I would be very skeptical if I heard about a deer going that far double lunged.
But, I was watching an NRA video this morning done by the Drury Brothers. The shot was from the ground, and the buck marched out in front of him at 15 yards. The shot looked pretty much perfect, maybe just a little bit back, but not much, total broadside, and was a pass through, a replay in slow motion confirmed the hit. The hit was not enough back at all for me to think that he didn't get both. He even said it was a double lunger. Now Drury brothers opinion, I pretty much trust, especially when it is the same as mine. He followed the blood 250 yards into a thicket where the buck jumped a barb wire fence. He then backed off the trail for five hours. When he came back the buck was in the thicket. He didn't go into how far deer went after he backed off, but I am assuming at least 50 yards since the deer was not in sight at all. When he lifted the bucks head up, it was completely stiff, meaning to me, that the buck was probably dead when he first followed it.

I wouldnt say its impossible either, but unlikely. I often think when i shoot a deer of how far I would have gone given the same shot on me. I would drop on the spot. Deer are amazing creatures when you think about........and tasty too

The only way a good double lung shot deer is going to travel 300 yards after it is hit is on the back of my 4 wheeler on the way back to the camp.

I don't think it's possible to go that far. Although, I've learned to expect the unexpected. My buddy shot a doe with a m/l through the heart...and it went 400 yds. I'd have never believed it if I wasn't there, and stuck my finger through the hole in the heart.

I guess I would have to see it to believe it. When you deflate both lungs, the animal's brain isn't getting any air after a couple seconds. I suppose it's possible for fat or hair to plug the holes a little and let the lungs retain enough air for them to live a little longer. But like I said, I probably wouldn't believe it if I hadn't seen it.

In case anyone is interested, the name of the video is
"Adventures Across North America" and it was put out by the NRA.
