Goldtip or Carbon Express?
I am switching from Aluminum to Carbon this year and have spent a LOT of time reading posts. For various reasons, I have narrowed my selection down to two choices. I have only bow hunted a few years, so I do not fully understand all the technical stuff. I will give the information and have and welcome opinions.
I shoot a older Darton Bow (compound). I cannot remember the exact model, but I know it doesn't have any of the current aggressive cams. I know for a fact I'm shooting 60lb draw and 26.5 inch arrows with 100 grain tips. I know my bow has a 65% let-off and I use a mechanical release.
OK, I am considering the Goldtip Pro or the Carbon Express CXL Select. (I like these two brands, but the exact model is up for suggestions) I have visited the BowJackson website and it is not totally up to date with the most current models, but the basic information I got was this.
The Carbon Express (200) which will currently be 250 weighed 366 grains and had a FOC of 10.2 %. The Goldtip (3555) which will be a 55/75 weighed 356 grains and had a FOC of 8.7%. According to Goldtips website, the FOC was closer to 11% and I do not have another reference on the Carbon Express.
Now, whether experience or just plain knowledge. Give me opinions or even tell me I'm headed in the total wrong direction. Also, I hear a LOT about the spine issue-How's mine looking? Other arrows in this price range that may be better? I'm all ears, so give me the scoop.

Can't go wrong with the Gold Tips, I have been using them for 3 going on 4 years and don't have one complaint. I never get too many flyers and I have shot them through fences and into trees and they will still fly true. Everyone's opinion will be different, but that is mine.

RE: Goldtip or Carbon Express?
I have never hunted with the carbon express so i will not comment , bu ti have hunted with the Goldtip and killed a bunch of deer with them gettin pass thru's with all but 2 or 3 .
i switched to the A/C/C 3-49 last season and that will be my last season , i took a really nice 12 point with that arrow that dressed out at 240 lbs. however i felt that arrow is too lite. so this year i am going tohunt with the new Easton ST Axis 340 which so far i really like , it is very smooth , plenty fast , weighs 9.5 grains per inch so is plenty heavy enough has a good FOC and flies like a bullet. so i guess with all that said if you are set on carbon express or the gold tip go with the gold tip or just give the Axis a try .

I shot CXLs for 3D.. and just fletched up a dozen GT Pro 7595s for hunting season. I like the heavier construction of the GTs for hunting.. and a little heavier weight quiets the bow down a bit. Also the smaller diameter will help w/ penetration a bit.

I bought the Gold Tip arrows. I'm not about to spend half as much as my total setup on a dozen arrows! Picked up 12 new Gold Tip XT 3555 shafts on ebay for $45 shipping included. Love them so far. The only problem I have with them is they keep splitting at the nock. Guess I have to aim at different targets!
I haven't had on split yet but have had a couple of bang ups. Still perfect condition. Plus I can spend that $80 on something else.

I'd trust the GT site. A foc in the 11 range is fine. Mine is a tad bit lower at 10.18% but arrow flight is good.
I've shot cx and gt arrows and have settled on the gt pro. Bolth are great arrows but I think the durability of the GT shafts is damn near impossible to beat. They are truly a rugged arrow.

My personal opinion is that gold tips are cheap, used them alot , there not very durable in my mind. Go carbon express more durable , a little more expensive but worth there weight in gold. Whatever you choose will kill deer, make sure you get the right arrows for your bow. Good luck.

I have both the cx select and the gt pro hunters. I will be using the gt's for hunting this fall. Both shoot good but the gt's are just a little heavier which is why I chose them for hunting.
