I kind of miss the old days when compounds didn't have cams on the wheels and they actually resembled bows. They weren't as fast but they were super smooth. Like the old Martin Cougar Magnums or the Hoyt Easton Gamegetter. Also had a circa mid 80's Golden Eagle. All of these bows were smooth and easy to shoot.

I would have to pick my Mathews MQ1, best shooting bow I've ever owned and kick myself every time I am in my bow room. I like my Outback that I have, but the MQ1 was a great bow to shoot.

This year makes 30 years I've been shooting compounds. The one that got away???? My 1977 Arrowstar Target bow. I tried to get it back two weeks after I traded it but the shop already sold it. DAMN!!!!!!!!! That was 1980.

I wish I could find my Ben Pearson Recurve that I learned to shoot with when I was a kid. I could have given it away, or its in the basement under 25 years worth of my parents crap. Either way I lose sleep at night trying to remember what I did with it.

Not because it was better, but for nostalgia, I wish I had the bow I started with. For my first 10 years of hunting I used a recurve (can't even remember who made it), but I took my first whitetail and first elk with it. Brings back memories of good times when I could go bowhunting for a month and not see another bowhunter, and when shooting an animal with a bow was considered quite the accomplishment.
I've never owned a compound I wanted to own again, after I got rid of it. Doubt I ever will.
