What should I do?

What should I do?
I just spent $60 on a new cable and string 2 months ago (500 shots) and one of the strands is busted on the cable. Is it okay to shoot? I probably need a new cable slide don't you think? Taking the cable back is not an option since I'm 650 miles away.[:@]

I'd buy a replacement, or have one made... but of course locate the cause of the stand failure before you install the new one. I can't say for certain the cable slide is the culprit, but if it's close the the broken strand it's a good place to start looking. A single strand break isn't that pressing if you know it happened ie: the result of an object other than the bow... say, like an arm guard clasp or a bump off the sharp corner of where the bow is hung / stored. Regardless, a new cable should be installed as soon as practical.

Is mailing the string back an option? Sounds like its worth a refund. Maybe call whoever set you up with that string and explain the problem. I'm guessing they'll refund the money. Then just go out and get another at a local pro shop.

ZAK, get hold of Prostrings. They sure aren't $60. Most one cam strings are about $30 to your door. Cables a little less. But it sounds to me like you should change your slide before you ruin another one.
