Where do "You" aim?

RE: Where do "You" aim?
Check out this learning aid/game. I will warn you though that most of the shots they have you trying are far from good shots and they come right out and say so, but the secret to the game and to hunting with a bow is aim for where you want the arrow to EXIT, this will result in the most vitals being hit.

Rack hit it pretty much on the head. From a tree stand I try to aim at the exit hole. You generally shoot high from a tree stand anyway, and if the animal is keyed up it will squat at the sound of the shot so I aim at the bottom third of the critter.

I am where i need to in order to kill the deer as fast as I can. I suppose the mechanics of it are what everyone has said, but I don't really think about it when the moment comes. I will say that I don't aim low for the heart.

PSE has a video called "Responsible Shot Placement for Bowhunters"

I think it's worth the investment.
Good luck,

RE: Where do "You" aim?
I aim about two inches behind the shoulder 1/3 the way up if it is from 15 to 25 yards. When it gets closer I aim higher. I might aim a little higher this year because last year I had really noisy arrows and had problems with deer jumping a lot.
I've never had the problem of trying to watch my arrow but I know its a big problem for some people.

Question for Nuge. Why would you aim higher on a skitish deer. They drop before they jump.
But if your bow is REAL slow.....sometimes they are on their way up..................Hey Arthur........
