i dont think it matters with the scented or unscented, they are going to smell something else if ya get my drift. I would rather have scented, if i was a deer and got down wind of that stuff, LOL!

I carry a lot of the same stuff mentioned before, but after last year I now carry extra bolts for my tree lounge.

I got out to the woods extra eairly one morning, but couldn't get my tree lounge on the tree, I tried and tried, soon I realized it was getting light out and that if I didn't get it up in the tree soon, I was SOL. That's when I realized that both bolts that hold my bottom section on were bent. Needless to say that morning hunt was wasted as I had to run to the parts store to get some new bolts, so now, I never leave home without my extra bolts.

in my cabelas bow/rifle backpack i have a lot of stuff. probably too much. i take a safety harness and a spare chest harness, mini mag lite, binoculars, hot hands and toe warmers, TP, 2 grunt calls, 3 scents [including scent away], rattling antlers, fill up the hydration bladder [probably will never use it], waterproof matches, 15-in-1 tool, camo disposable camera, blaze orange tape, spare gloves, spare stocking cap, vasoline sp?, and the seat to my hang-on stand.

I hunt elk by spot and stalk so I hunt with a big fanny pack for an all day trip and a small fanny pack for an afternoon ambush hunt.
-knife and bone saw (kodiac set)'
-license
-compass
-high energy food and jerky
-fire starter (magnesium)
-pocket knife
-small flash light or head light
-water
-binoculars on a crooked horn bino system
-range finder
-most important first aid material ( gauze, ace wrap, antibiotic oint., bandaids, kling wrap, ibuprofen, and a couple quarters)
-gloves and coat(strapped to fanny pack)

I don't always travel light but I have what I need when I need it.

Sorry guys but I've read your post and none of you can hunt with me. I have yet to see BEER in your list.

I'm not a light packer, I take pretty much anything and everything I think I might need. I'm also not one to get down out of the tree for lunch, so I carry that with me too.

Some items may vary depending on the time of year.

Camo face paint (I hate face masks)
Gerber Multi-Tool
2 Lighters
Earth scented cover scent
Doe urine
Doe Estrous Lure
Primos Power Buck & Doe grunt tube
Compass
1 bottle of Gatorade
1 bottle of water
Bottle to pee in
TP
Small flashlight
Hunting license/tags
2 PB&J Sandwiches
1 Apple
Trail mix
Jerky
Rattling antlers
Binoculars
Gloves
Walkie talkie
Safety harness
Broadhead wrench
EZ Hanger bow hanger
Ribbon for marking trails
Extra foot pegs
Disposable camera
Small kit with assorted allen wrenches in it
Extra broadhead blades
Back up release

There might be more, I can't remember. Anything and everything I might need. You never know what may happen in the course of a day.

It's better to have and not need than to need and not have is my method of thinking when it comes to packing.
