I lost my Hunters Education card right after my first season of hunting. I still have the certificate. Washington state requires you to have either the card, the certificate, or an old license with you in order to purchase a hunting license and tags if you're a younger hunter. I don't know if that works in your area, try calling a local sporting goods store to find out.

I know that in Idaho everything is kept in a computer...... (we all know how reliable those can be... ). That being said (and I may be wrong) as an instructor for the fish and game here I know that in Idaho you can contact the main office and they can let you know what needs to be done. I don't know how FL works (hopefully not with punch cards) jk..... but you should be able to contact the main game and fish office and figure out what to do. Let me know what they say. I'll be curious to see what happens.

In Michigan, a lot of the records are on computer, but in the old days (pre-computer) you could sign an affidavit saying that you have taken Hunter’s Safety and they will then sell you a license.

I lost or missed place my archery, shotgun, and rifle hunters ed cards. I filled out a application, with my name, address, phone #, and the appox. dates to when I took the classes, within 2 weeks i had new cards. Thats how they do here in NJ.

In CT I had to call the Wildlife Division and had to give them my SS# and within a week I had a new card. I guess every one who has taken the hunters safety course is on file by their SS#. Call your state's office that handles the hunters saftey course they should point you in the right direction

Contact the Florida Game & Fish. They should have you on their computers and it's fairly easy to get a replacement, UNLESS, you are like me and took the Hunter Ed class before they started keeping everything on computer, now my butt is shining a seat this weekend at a H. Ed class to replace the one that I lost. Good luck!

Good question! I took hunters safety back in the mid 70's and lost it probably 10 years later. Every state I have hunted in I have grandfather claused in and not been required to have the card. However I am thinking of hunting Elk in Colorado this fall and I need to have one regardless of age. I took Hunters Ed when I was living in Michigan. My question is would they have it on record and who would I call in Michigan to find out what to do. Sorry to but in on your post but it just reminded me that I need to get my hunters Ed card before I go.
