Stealth cam questions
New stealth cam owner here. The 59$ model at wal-mart. Me and a bud set it up over a new food plot we got growing good. We had to mount the camera kind of low to the ground maybe just 2 feet from it. Otherwise the camera wouldnt set itself off. My question is how low do you guys mount your stealth cams? What film has given you the best exposures. Im using Kodad 400 max film in mine.

RE: Stealth cam questions
i have the same camera, and i usually set it up about 5-5 1/2 feet off the ground. unless you have it pointing up, 2 feet isnt going to give you very good pictures and it also has a greater range at the higher level. i use kodak 200 and it seems to work just fine.

Make sure you don't have it facing the sun. Also, the biggest problem in the warmer climates is that it's already so hot here in the summer months that there is very little if any temperature difference between ambient temp and body temp of an animal. This makes it harder for the PIR sensor to pick up a temp differential on the animal and air. We typically see that you usually have to set our cameras closer to the area where we expect to take the picture than we do in the cooler months. Also make sure you don't use cheap batteries, they will be gone in a matter of two weeks or less.
We use Kodak Max 400 and it seems to be the best for a combination of day and night pics.

RE: Stealth cam questions
I set my cams about 3 feet off the ground so that I can get shots of turkeys as well as deer. If you set it higher you could wedge it looking downward a little. When I ran 35mm's I used 400 speed. Now I run digital homebrews and it doesn't matter. Now lets see some picts.
