If we're hunting whitetails, I pay no attention to either. Speed is not important and KE is not critical unless you are borderline on draw weight or insist on shooting mechanicals. My full attention is put into getting a high F.O.C. with my arrow and getting it to fly perfectly straight at all distances.

I shoot a 444 gr arrow at 286 fps. IMO that is an awesome blend of speed and KE. As far as the insults, don't start giving them and you won't wind up recieving them.
