Default Interesting conversation with a Bowtech dealer....

A buddy stopped by a new sporting goods store here in D/FW area and they had some Bowtechs on the shelf. He looked at a Patriot SC and it had a price of $459.00 on it. The guy told him it was an '04 riser with '03 limbs. This sounds a little fishy to me. What do you think? Jeff B, Pat?

BowTech and other manufacturers routinely take older parts and make new "combinations" at special prices for dealers..but generally at the end of the year..for example..Hunters Friend has some of the 2002 Pro 38 risers with the standard limb pockets, etc. I know they have or had some Stalkers still that they made up EDIT: WITH SandTraps, etc.

However I find it hard to believe they would take brand new 04 risers and pair them with old limbs (that would need to be re-dipped), and I'm not even sure the 03 pat and the 04 have the same limb length or proper cuts at the fork.

I suspect it's just an 03 Pat. BowTech still does have some of those available (at least as of a couple months ago).

I'll poke around and see if I can find anything out.

BTW..dealer/store name would be helpful...

Did a little poking around.

2003 & 2004 Pat SC uses different limb lengths as I figured. They do have some 2003s without sandtraps that they are offering as specials to dealers. That most likely is what it is.

Absolutely! It's a really great deal for those who cannot afford the prices of the newer 2004 bows. Very smooth, very quick, a great shooter, and great prices on them.

It could happen... I bought my Martin on a deal like that. It was the 04' Riser and Limbs but it had the old 03' cams on it. Usually sells for around $400.00 I got it for $199.95. I called Martin and asked them what the deal was and they said it was a "Year's End" bow. They started manufacturing the 2004 parts in 2003 and started setting up the limbs and riser with 03' cams because the 04' cams weren't ready yet. Could be the same situation... Call Bowtech.

I thought sand traps were on 04's. How can one who don't know, tell the difference?
