Nice pics, Frank. I hope to get my camera out again soon. Last time I only got two pictures and they just happen to be of some fella trying to stay out of the path of the sensor!

Frank, I live on the Il, Wi border and was driving to the inlaws for dinner last saturday when I saw 2 deer way off on the edge of a field. I stopped and grabed the binos and glased them and was SHOCKED! The one deer had a full 8 point rack already. WOW the brow tines were at least 6 inches already with 3 months to go. I believe I saw him last year and he was a very tall 8 pointer , I would guess 155 class, he looks about 115 right now. My brother in law nows the guy who owns the property so hopefully we can make a deal.

Good luck whacking one those in the pics[8D]

Ok, that does it. I am putting my camera out this weekend. Do you attribute the high level of deer activity to the deer cain? Is that the best lure to use for drawing them into camera range? I have never used it. In Florida, I have gotten some good pics using citrus pulp.

I apologize for not getting back to you folks sooner but with working being over for now I have not been on the computer as much. I am glad you enjoyed the pictures folks.

Jimbohuntr1,

Yes, that is a deer coming into the picture area from the right side. There are a variety of paths leading to this spot and that is one of them. I have another pic of it exiting from the same direction but thought that one was enough. The funny thing was that event occurred during the middle of the day.

cj,

Those pics were from last week. I have the cam out again now and will be picking it up this weekend and posting more pics on Monday of next week. I thought this could be something I do weekly so you guys could follow along with me when checking out my prospects for next season. I have no idea how to judge how big those deer are going to be come fall. That will be part of the fun of this I hope.

Thank you all for the interest.
