I am from the midwest also...Southern Il to be exact. Used to think like you when I first moved here 8 years ago. The comparisons are not that far off between hunting a property with feeders vs a property bordered on all four sides with corn and soybean...not to mention Forests ladened with nuts and fruit...Texas Forest cant touch the Midwest in available food souces....IMO.
Hogs are not as easy to hunt as what you might think. They are for the most part not as habitual as deer. they roam with the flow you might say...you can pattern thier movements, but it might be weeks, even months before they will return to a certain area...the feeders just keep themm around a little longer.
