Default Copper John Dead Nuts

I added the CJ Dead Nuts to my new Liberty. I'm really impressed with the sight when I keep it in sight. I have had to re-sight it 4-5 times because it keeps moving in the bracket. It's actually fallen off twice. I am possitive I am tightening it down enough, but after approxamitly 75 shots it has moven off sight. I understand CJ has redesigned the racket with a larger "dovetail" to grip more surface area. Is this true? I just bought this about three weeks ago from Bass Pro. Could I have an older design? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Gingus

I have a new one and have trouble moving the darn thing. It is tight. Got to remember BPS has thousands on the old ones to get rid of before they put out the new ones.

I like the basic design of the Copper John Dead Nuts sights.......I didn't care too much for the softness/durability of the aluminum used. I never had mine move within the Dovetail that I can recall, but In very little time I had the vertical bracket chewed to shreds sighting in different arrows, bows etc. In 1/2 season it was trashed to the point where the screw in the vertical plane won't slide freely anymore. The washers on the screws are badly misshaped and all the screws have rusted worse than any I have had. The fibers on the pins seem a little more susceptible to damage than most as well. Mine looks like I had it for 10 years.
Other than I liked it just fine.

Finally broke down and picked up a Spot Hogg "Real Deal" .....the name fits.

I've had my Copper John Pro for about a year and a half and my sight has never moved without me moving it. Call or email Copper John about the problem and I'm sure they will take care of it for you. They have super customer service. I spoke with Al Coon at Copper John when the fiber optics on my sight broke and he sent me a whole pack of replacements free of charge along with a copper john patch in 2 days of me contacting them. I have also heard of many other stories of super customer service from them. Contact them i'm sure they will take care of you.

I have been using the CP Deadnuts 3 pin hunter for about a year now with almost nothing but good things to say about it. My only real "beef" is with the vertical adjustment system. It is a pain in the rear in my opinion. Two set screws and a wide vertical gap to move them in. I basically have to re-level the sight every time I move the pins up and down. I understand that this is probably there for that very reason but I would prefer some form of separate adjustment for that issue.

I used a CJ for a couple years and have nothing but good things to say about them. The adjustments were kind of a pain, and I would prefer a little more dovetail machining to keep the adjustments sliding smooth back and forth. But once its set, forget it. You wont have any troubles.

I would contact CJ and they'll will most definitely take care of it. Good people.
