Cutting Arrows with dremel

RE: Cutting Arrows with dremel
I had thought of using a dremmel too. Good info here.
Hey, anybody use a plain old tiny tubing cutter for aluminums?
I saw one sold with an "arrow making kit" and wondered how it would work, so I tried the cutter I already had at home.
It seemed to cut square, but it did need some deburring on the inside.

RE: Cutting Arrows with dremel
This is a bad idea if you are at all interested in consistancy within a set of arrows. With the Axis you may be able to get by because you have a tool to square the ends but that is it.ampahunter is right,if you make a jig to get the ends square and consistant then this will be fine but by all means do not do it by hand. You will never see your full potential if you do.
Also,NEVER use a tubing type cutter to cut aluminums.
Come,on,it isn't but a few bucks to get it done right or you can build or buy the proper equipment. My arrow saw is homemade and uses a sewing machine motor and regular arrow cutoff wheels.Hit the yard sales and find an old sewing machine or build a jig to hold the dremil SQUARE to the arrows.
