well i dropped it off and he put it up on the pulley right away. i watched as the rack scrapped the ground right from the start. the butcher is in bellefonte right off of 64. it was just called deer processing and fur buyer. it was a shady ass trailer park but i just wanted the deer done and had no idea where else to take it. i would have done it myself but i didn't want to cape it short or mess it up because normally i just butcher does and just rip the whole thing off as soon as i can. when i head back home again, i am going to take ALL my pics and compar them all. thanks guys!

You would have a hard time making this a criminal case, but you can certainly sue him in small claims court if you think you can prove this happened. Before and after pics will certainly help prove what happened.

One would think that you would recognize your own rack immediately. Maybe he broke it off, the filed it. But any other guess would be a stretch...I think JamesVee might be on to something??

Legacy - maybe your butcher was one of those guys that you said were crappy hunters because they use a rifle, not a bow :-)

Any deer I have ever had mounted, I have always skinned it down to the head, then took the cape/hide/head all in one. I would never let a "mounter" go to a butcher in tact...never.
